DTC
The Depository Trust Company (DTC) is the central securities depository subsidiary of DTCC, providing custody and book-entry settlement for the majority of US securities. Acting as a registered clearing agency, DTC holds securities on behalf of participant banks and broker-dealers and enables electronic transfer of ownership. In December 2025 the SEC issued a no-action letter granting DTC relief to offer a tokenization service for certain DTC-custodied assets, including Russell 1000 constituents, index ETFs and US Treasury bills, bonds and notes. DTCC and Digital Asset announced a partnership to tokenize a subset of DTC-custodied US Treasuries on the Canton Network.
