Wells Fargo Digital Assets refers to the digital-asset, blockchain and tokenization efforts of San Francisco bank Wells Fargo. The bank has named payments, digital assets, blockchain and tokenization as strategic focus areas. In March 2025 the Wells Fargo Investment Institute described digital assets as a viable investment asset and a potential portfolio diversifier. In March 2026 Wells Fargo filed a US trademark application for WFUSD covering crypto payments, trading infrastructure and asset tokenization software, signaling possible stablecoin plans. Earlier, in 2019, Wells Fargo piloted Wells Fargo Digital Cash, a tokenized deposit system on R3 Corda for internal cross-border transfers.
